LG Electronics is set to launch a joint marketing program with Google to foster its organic light emitting diode (OLED) TV business in the global market.

LG announced on June 23 that it had a ceremony for cooperation with Google to promote LG’s premium OLED TVs at Google’s office in Seoul on the previous day with the attendance of Kim Ki-wan, vice president and head of the home entertainment business unit for overseas sales and marketing at LG Electronics, and John Lee, country manager for Google Korea.

LG plans to open the era of popularized OLED TVs in earnest by expanding the global sales of its products and nurturing its OLED brand, targeting high-end global consumers. The Korean home appliance giant aims at securing 100 million potential customers for the premium TVs in the alliance with Google.

To that end, LG will use Google's search engine and video-sharing platform YouTube, carrying out a variety of marketing activities optimized for each stage, from raising awareness of its OLED products and the enhancement of brand preference, to the actual purchase of the products.

LG expects to secure a differentiated model of the OLED TV business by creating a synergy effect of LG’s best high-definition technology combined with Google's innovative brand image.
