Korea South-East Power Co. (KOSEP) participated in an international exhibition, “Power-gen Europe 2015”, held in Amsterdam, Netherland, in a team with South Korean small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), KOSEP said on June 11.

The exhibition, held in Europe annually, is an opportunity for entry into the overseas market, as well as to observe Europe’s power industry trends, KOSEP said. Including KOSEP, the five power stations, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), and Korea Electric Engineers Association of South Korea co-sponsored the exhibition, KOSEP said.

As KOSEP supported South Korean SMEs’ entry to the European market, the SMEs concluded US$14.7 million of “contract propulsion” and US$38.5 million of export consultation, with “the region’s 800 power buyers”, KOSEP said.

Bae Jae-sung, head of the “supply and cooperation sector” of KOSEP, said that KOSEP in connection with Power-gen Europe would hold a consultation event in Warsaw, Poland, on June 12. KOSEP will further support South Korean SMEs’ exports with its trade offices in the U.S., Poland, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and Japan, which are the SMEs’ main targets for export.

KOSEP has proclaimed that it is aimed at raising the exports of its approximately 60 cooperating South Korean SMEs to US$160 million.
