48 MOUs Signed for Cooperation in Infrastructure Development

Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Won Hee-ryong met with Investment Minister Khalid A. Al-Falih in Saudi Arabia on Jan. 24.

Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Won Hee-ryong recently visited the UAE to sign 48 MOUs for closer cooperation in infrastructure development.

In the UAE, South Korean enterprises have led a number of infrastructure development projects since the 1970s. The examples include Barakah Nuclear Power Plant construction and oil refining plant construction in Ruwais as well as the Burj Khalifa.

The MOUs include three signed with the Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure of the UAE. One is on a hydrogen industry ecosystem to cover urban hydrogen production, storage, transport and utilization. According to it, hydrogen technologies of South Korea will be demonstrated in major UAE cities in 2024 and later after demonstration site selection scheduled for the second half of this year.
