Unveils Small Foldable OLED Displays and Vehicle Display Solutions

LG Display’s 360-degree foldable OLED display

LG Display announced on Jan. 3 that it will showcase innovative technologies, including organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) displays that can be folded 360 degrees inside and outside, at CES 2023, which opens in Las Vegas on Jan. 5.

In particular, the Korean display giant will unveil many small and medium-sized foldable OLED displays and vehicle display solutions.

Users can easily fold the 8-inch 360-degree foldable OLED display back and forth. LG Display explained that it applied a module structure that guarantees durability even after folding and unfolding the display more than 200,000 times and a special folding structure minimizes wrinkles at the folding part of the display.

In addition, a 17-inch OLED display for foldable laptops can be used for tablets, laptops and portable monitors as it can be folded and unfolded. It shows almost no wrinkles on its folded part.

LG Display will also introduce in-vehicle sound solutions. Its independently developed film-type exciter (vibration generator) won the CES 2023 Innovation Award for making sound using a display panel or various vehicle interior materials as diaphragms.

As the foldable display has the size of a passport (150mm × 90mm) and weighs 40g, it can be placed in various spots such as ceilings, pillars, dashboards and headrests.

In addition, BeFit Trolley is a product that combines a 48-inch OLED panel with CSO technology that sounds directly from the screen without a separate speaker and a storage design frame with wheels.
