South Korea aims to expand its e-commerce export scale with Latin America to US$300 million, the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (MOTIE) said.

South Korea will increase its financing for the trade of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to 81 trillion won (US$74.6 billion) this year from the 75 trillion won (US$69 billion) of last year, the MOTIE said.

The MOTIE presented its strategy for expansion such as increasing the number of nations providing information about their markets and buyers to the trade information portal TradeNAVI from the existing 49 to 56, as well as matching SMEs that don't have experience in exporting with Korean traders overseas, the MOTIE said.

The South Korean government will particularly focus on the export of the health care sector, which “can be high value-added,” the MOTIE said.
