South Korea is expecting to double the scale of its horse racing exports. LetsRun expanded its contract with the Singapore Turf Club on March 27 to export real-time horse race broadcasts, LetsRun said on April 1. As a result, the South Korean export scale is expanded, it said.

LetsRun has been exporting real-time races through live satellite broadcasts since June 8, 2014.

The new contract is valid from April 1 2015 to the end of March 2016, with plans to further expand the contract. The currently confirmed export scale is 919 races twice a week, LetsRun said.

LetsRun expects annual sales of 50 billion won (US$46 million) in 2015, it said.

Hur Tae-yoon, the director of LetsRun’s marketing headquarters, said that he will develop Korean horse races as “a key player of the Korean wave” by pursuing exports of real-time horse race broadcasts to the European Union.
