LG Electronics signed a business agreement with LG U+ and Crypto Lab, a startup specializing in encryption technology, on Oct. 4 to develop post-quantum cryptography (PQC) for automotive electronic components.

The goal of post-quantum cryptography, also called quantum-resistant cryptography, is to develop cryptographic systems that are secure against both quantum and classical computers.

LG Electronics intends to develop quantum-resistant encryption technology to provide safer and more reliable automotive electronic parts to global automakers.

The company plans to develop an in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system loaded with PQC solutions and verify its reliability.
