Samsung SDS to Advance Its BPO Service with SMAC

Jun Dong-soo, CEO of Samsung SDS, said that the company’s main engine for its information technology outsourcing (ITO) business growth towards 2020 will be social network services, mobility, analytics of big data, and cloud (SMAC) technologies.

SMAC will enable “advanced” logistics, mobile management, and biometric authentication solutions targeting the B2B market, he said.

CEO Jun introduced the company’s future plan, “Vision 2020,” at a press conference held on April 15 at the company’s headquarters in Seoul.

The company’s Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) service for logistics will provide a visualization of logistics processes, including the timely location of products and improving the accuracy of shipping through employing an Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) and Big Data Analytics, he said.

Samsung could grow up as a global leading company, as it has successfully responded to paradigm shifting times, he said. The SMAC is a new paradigm shift that Samsung will use as its leverage for further global success, he added.
