Dongbu Daewoo Electronics Customizes Products for Southeast Asian Markets

On April 13 (local time), Dongbu Daewoo Electronics unveiled its 2015 product lineup in a press conference at the Marriott Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia.  

A company representative said, “We will actively target emerging markets that have had a weak business foundation, including the Southeast Asian region, and expand our sales and profits, along with our existing main markets such as Latin America and the Middle East.” 

Based on high-end and specialized products, Dongbu Daewoo Electronics announced its total of 38 new product lineups, including refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves, combination ovens, and air conditioners, and introduced its premium products-centered marketing strategy on the day. 

In particular, the company unveiled its washing machines for Batik and air fryer ovens for Ayam Goreng, which are reflected the lifestyle of consumers in the Southeast Asian region, and received favorable reviews from local buyers.   

The drum and automatic washing machines with capacities of 8kg are customized products that allow Indonesian consumers to easily wash their traditional Batik costume, which the people of Indonesia frequently wear.     

With a single click of a button, the washing machines wash Batik at the optimized washing speed, temperature, spin-dry, and time. 

Also, air fryer ovens for Ayam Goreng are combination ovens with functions of microwaves, grills, ovens, fermentation oven, and air fryer. The products can cook popular Indonesian dishes including ayam goreng, sate ayam, nasi uduk, and ikan bakar without oil at the press of a button. As more and more local consumers become interested in health, they were praised as excellent products for consumers in the region.   

Dongbu Daewoo Electronics established sales offices in Indonesia and Malaysia and a sales branch in Sydney, Australia in October last year. The company is conducting business and marketing activities in not only the 10 markets Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and the Philippines, but also Australia and New Zealand.
