Financing for 5G Network Construction Project

Korea Trade Insurance Corp. (K-SURE) announced on Sept. 22 that it will provide US$1.2 billion (about 1.7 trillion won) in financing for a network construction project promoted by Verizon, a U.S. mobile carrier. 

Samsung Electronics has signed a contract with Verizon to supply 5G network equipment worth about 8 trillion won.

Lee In-ho, president of Korea Trade Insurance Corp., visited Verizon's headquarters in New Jersey on Sept. 21 and discussed details of the financing plan with Scott Krohn, a Verizon vice president.
