Making the World A Better Place

The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) was first conceptualized in 1997 by two academics, one from London Business School and the other from Babson College. At that time, entrepreneurship was not a household name it is today and very little was known about the entrepreneurial eco-systems in countries around the world. The first reports were published in 1999 and involved ten countries, eight from the OECD together with Japan and the United States. Since then, GEM has grown to involve over 100 countries covering all geographic regions and all levels of economic activity.

The Visit Korea Committee (VKC) held an opening ceremony for the Korea Grand Sale 2018 in front of Doota Mall in Dongdaemun, Seoul, on January 18, as well as carried out a campaign for local residents and foreigners to encourage friendliness. The Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) announced that the fourth annual Korea Christmas Fair takes place on December 8 to 10 and December 15 to 17 as the largest Christmas open market in Asia and this year’s last open market event in South Korea.

Co-hosted by the KINTEX and Exporum, the fair comes with a variety of products, ranging from Christmas goods and gifts to Christmas foods, furniture, home decor items, jewelry, toys, and travel and festival tickets. Chevrolet offers the Malibu as a free gift, too.

Season IV of the Korea Christmas Fair, the largest open market exhibition in Asia will be held jointly by KINTEX and X-Forum in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do.

According to KINTEX, Part 1 will be held from December 8 to 10 and Part 2 will be held from December 15 to 17 in Kintex Halls 4 and 5. SK Engineering & Construction (SK E&C) announced on October 30 that its construction project for the Eurasia Underwater Tunnel in Turkey was named this year’s Global Road Project in the construction technology category by the International Road Federation (IRF) for the first time in the domestic industry.
