LG Electronics has revealed the LG MiniBeam PF1000U, called “Short Distance Focus,” which can project a very large screen from a very short distance.
The company announced on Sept. 10 that it has unveiled a new MiniBeam model that significantly reduces the required distances for image projection using mirrors. The minimum necessary distance from the projector to the screen is about 38 cm, a tenth of existing projectors. When placing the projector only 38 cm away from the screen, customers can enjoy a screen size of 100 inches, or 254 cm, anywhere, including in their living rooms, master bedroom, or even when camping.
According to LG Electronics, the new product supports full HD resolution with a brightness of up to 1,000 lumens and a contrast ratio of 150,000:1. Therefore, it provides bright and clear images even with a large screen. Also, it is easy to carry, since it weighs only 1.9 kilograms, making it the lightest Short Distance Focus projector in the world. With its four corner keystone function, customers can view less-distorted images even when the projector is placed on uneven ground.
The new MiniBeam projector also features a Bluetooth function that can wirelessly connect with any Bluetooth-enabled soundbar, speaker, and other audio equipment at short range. Moreover, with WiFi and Miracast, it is easy to share content from computers and smart devices to your projector. The LG MiniBeam PF1000U is priced at 1.59 million won (US$1,340).
