Leather vs. Aluminum
LG Electronics’ G4 smartphone, which is scheduled to go on sale on April 29, will soon face off against Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S6.
LG Electronics is relying upon its high-performance cameras and removable batteries to pull ahead. The G4 is considered superior to Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S6 in terms of convenience of its cameras and the batteries that consumers frequently use.
The G4 will feature a 16 megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8 megapixel front-facing camera, the first in the nation. It will also be the first smartphone with an f/1.8 aperture. Even for DSLR camera lenses, an aperture of f/1.4 to 2.8 is a high-quality product.
The G4 will come with a 3,000 mAh battery that can be removed from the smartphone. LG Electronics has chosen the convenience of consumers over sold bottom design, adopting a strategy to differentiate it from Samsung's products.
On the other hand, Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S6 has chosen sleek design with a metal frame and glass panels. In a bid to maximize design, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have a 2550 mAh battery deep inside the phone, rather than the previous removable battery.
Both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge also feature 5 megapixel front cameras and a 16 megapixel rear camera with an aperture of f/1.9, as well as live HDR. However, the G4 is considered a cut above in terms of objective specifications.
The G4 will also be the first domestic smartphone with a real leather cover, which is designed to give feelings of exclusivity and classic styling compared to existing metal smartphones. It also has a curved screen with a curvature of r3000.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has the world's first 5.1” Quad HD Super AMOLED dual edge screen, offering wider viewing angles and an entirely new viewing experience.
